R&D Intern Particulate Matter Sensors

Your Profile

  • BSc or MSc student in physics or engineering sciences
  • Very good understanding of measuring technology and aptitude for experimental work
  • Programming skills in Python or other language for data analysis (Matlab, R, etc.)

Your Responsibilities

Your internship at Sensirion offers you a unique insight into the research and development of modern sensor solutions. Put your knowledge into practice in a challenging and fascinating project. Your future colleague, Thomas (R&D Engineer), explains what to expect in your internship.
Personenbild

What are the specific tasks?

You will be part of the team responsible for the performance of Particulate Matter (PM2.5) sensors from calibration to field measurements. You will plan and conduct experiments, analyze the resulting data and discuss it with our team. Other environmental quantities such as temperature, relative humidity and VOC levels are measured and included in the analysis. This allows to find optimizations in both sensor hardware and algorithm software.

What are the daily challenges?

The development of Particulate Matter sensors requires carefully designed experiments, with no predefined recipes for success. This challenging process requires good knowledge of the underlying physics and attention to details both in the lab and during data analysis. Implementing the gained insights to push the technological boundaries are what make this work so satisfying.
