Your Profile

  • Successful degree in electrical engineering (university or FH), previous apprenticeship in a technical field is an advantage
  • Very good basic understanding of physics
  • Hands-on mentality with pleasure in experimenting and carrying out small projects
  • Programming experience in a high-level language (e.g. Python)

Your Responsibilities

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute significantly to the development of the latest generation of environmental sensors. You will be responsible for the experimental characterization of prototypes, from the design of the experiments to their set-up, implementation, evaluation and interpretation. What are the specific tasks?

As an R&D engineer, I actively accompany a new product from the prototype phase through qualification to the transfer to production. In my day-to-day work, I develop measurement set-ups with which I conduct experiments to characterize our sensors. The associated data evaluation in Python is just as much a part of my job as CAD, prototype construction and driver development. For me, my job is a perfect mix of hands-on and office work, and you can find me just as often in the lab with an Allen key as scripting on the PC.

What are the daily challenges?

During the development of the latest sensors, we regularly enter new territory and face challenges far off the beaten track. In everyday work, this means being able to respond flexibly to new findings and work out solutions independently. This solution must always be seen in the context of the end product. As product developers, we are responsible for ensuring that our sensor functions reliably not only in the laboratory, but also in production and, above all, in its subsequent area of application.
