Your Profile

  • Excellent final degree (MSc oder PhD) in electrical engineering, microelectroincs or physics
  • Passion for analog IC design

Your Responsibilities

The tasks you will encounter at Sensirion are extremely diverse and exciting. In interdisciplinary project teams, you will help develop the latest generation in sensor technology. Your future colleague Matthieu (Senior IC Designer) tells you what to expect.

What are the specific tasks?

After reviewing the product requirements with the Project leader and setting the specifications for our circuit, we mainly work on designing the analog circuit itself. Once the specifications are reached in simulation, we work on the layout and after a successful top-level verification we tape-out. Once the silicon is back from the foundry, we review the wafer-level test results, then measure the chip in the lab and check if further improvements are needed.

What are the daily challenges?

I focus on designing state-of-the art circuits while keeping them as simple as possible, be it on optimizing or transforming known circuits, or on creating innovative ones for our new products. I prepare the Evaluation plan with the team based on the risks of said circuits and on the specifications. When lab measurements don't fit the expectations, I investigate and try to figure out what to fix. I coordinate with other ASIC designers and with other groups (e.g. MEMS, Packaging, Product Management, Quality) to give support, stay aligned and keep a bird-eye view on the product.
